A multi disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Technical Director to provide technical leadership of major and complex projects at bid and implementation phases.
The key responsibilities of the position are to support bids technically and commercially (fee assessments); to provide technical leadership and management on complex and major projects; to report on project progress (technical and commercial) monthly; to help recruit and maintain a technically strong team; to participate actively in the development and training of staff working for him including mentoring.
A Good Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and MICE status are essential, along with in depth experience in the design of a range of bridges and civil works, proven capability in technical leadership and management of teams delivering major and complex projects, including on D&C contracts, experience of delivering projects to time and budget.
Experience of working with a contractor, some specialist skills such as design in seismic areas, design of bridges to resist ship impact, design of cable stayed bridges and knowledge of soil*structure interaction are desirable.
The successful applicant will be a self starter, able to work with the minimum of direction; have good leadership and team working skills; be a good communicator (verbal and written); have good interpersonal skills and be committed to delivering quality and to continuous improvement.
